Dee Why
What have we here? A jam of sailing boats
at the start of the Northern Beaches Regatta? Whipped
cream on top of the Dee Why 150th anniversary cake?
The Sydney Opera House as seen from Dee Why? Or is it
the roof of the Catholic Church in Oaks Avenue, Dee
Why?

The statue in Lumsdaine Drive, Freshwater,
is of Duke Kahanamoku, an Olympic champion who introduced
surfboarding to Australia when Alan was five months
old. Hardly anyone knows what Duke Kahanamoku’s
first name was, but now you do. It was Duke.

Georges Heights

A dinosaur skeleton or a confused tree? Whatever, it’s
on the Georges Heights track to Cobblers Beach. |
Greenwich
Survey the city from Manns Point, Greenwich.
Greenwich
Like pages from a giant’s book, tree roots keep
Alan company on the bush path linking Robert and Mitchell
Streets, Greenwich.
Kirribilli
