Photos - Surprises - Paintings / Murals (continued)
Silverwater
Asquith Street, Silverwater.
First reaction: What a hopeless, childish signwriting job.
Second reaction: You can't help but notice and remember it! I'd name it "brilliant".
South
Hurstville
Be a good boy while Grandpa’s away
reporting the sighting of an air vent in the sky, above Connells
Point and Resthaven Roads, South Hurstville.
Stanmore
|
|
A Merchant Street lady admires the
view of Stanmore from her balcony. Except that there
is no lady and no balcony.

The Rocks
No, you can't tie up your camel and take a balloon
flight from the centre of Sydney city. This excellent
work adorns part of the Sydney Harbour Bridge access,
beside Cumberland Street, The Rocks.
The Rocks
The historic area of Sydney City, The
Rocks, has a large painting/mural showing development
over many decades. It’s in Nurses Walk, between
George and Harrington Streets.
Turrella
A colourful way to decorate a stone building
between the railway lines in Turrella. It can be seen from
Henderson Street.
Warwick Farm
Was Lawrence Hargrave an engineer, explorer, astronomer or aeronautical pioneer?
Yes, and also the inventor of the box kite.
The school named after him is where you would expect: Lawrence Hargrave Road, Warwick Farm.
Waverton
See this railway mural between Waverton and Wollstonecraft stations.
