A bit of history: Alan re-visited, for the
first time in over 60 years, the house in Powell Road, Rose
Bay, where he and Marjorie lived in 1942.
They spent part of their honeymoon sheltering under this staircase
from attacks by a Japanese submarine that had found its way
into Sydney Harbour.

It is hard to believe that this was Sydney's first international
airport.

We hope this tree in Balfour Road, Rose Bay, realises
it has been blessed with such artistic symmetry.

Rushcutters Bay
In spite of the proximity of New South Head Road's traffic,
this is a very pleasant part of Rushcutters Bay with playing
fields, parkland and, of course, the bay.
